X750 Spitz V2 router self rebooting

Hi,

[I sent a support request by email; I am posting this in case someone has the same issue]

I recently purchased an X750 Spitz V2 which I initially plugged into an Eaton El650 UPS.

Since the Spitz self-rebooted every other hour and the logs did not indicate anything other than “procd: - init complete” followed by a flurry of DHCP bail requests, I thought the Spitz watchdog saw a power outage (or might not like the waveform on the UPS output depending on the current pull variations of the other UPS loads).

I therefore disconnected the Spitz from the UPS and directly connected it to the mains. The self-reboot issue occurs much less often but still happens about twice a day (no, I did not set a reboot schedule). There has not been any power outage for days. And the Spitz has the latest firmware.

The Spitz handles about 150 LAN clients (192.168.1.254 / 255.255.255.254) using Ethernet (Fiber) and failover to 4G/LTE. Could it be that the X750 is actually under-dimensioned to handle a Home LAN like mine?

I gave the logs from the latest reboot to Perplexity Pro, which concluded: Based on the provided GL.iNet x750 router logs, there is strong evidence that the router underwent a self-reboot or a full system restart. There is a very high likelihood that the router rebooted itself unexpectedly, likely due to firmware or watchdog-triggered restart rather than power loss.

Anyone with a similar experience?

Hi

We note that you have already submitted a support request via email, so please continue the communication and resolution process there.

Additionally, you can SSH into the router from your PC and run logread -f to save log messages before a power outage or unexpected Restart.
